Conrad Anker getting ready for another cold day of labor on Ulvetanna. In a climate like this, and on a peak like 'The Wolf's Tooth', your gear and clothing play a huge part in survival.
Cedar Wright, Conrad Anker, myself, and the locals head to the ice run way to retrieve our luggage off the plane.
Cedar Wright was worried about losing his fitness waiting out Antarctic storms so he brought along his portable hangboard to make gains while adventure climbing in Antarctica...I'm not sure what promoted him to take his shirt off in the sub zero conditions.
I got up early on this day to get a head start on Conrad and Jimmy so I could shoot photos of them in action on their new route before they left for the summit of Ulvetanna. I was absolutely freezing when I took this shot; the sun had just hit us, Conrad was on his way up, and it was time for me to head back down to camp. I shot a few more photos and headed back to camp watching Jimmy and Conrad with binoculars till they made their way to the top!
